And that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. – Deuteronomy 30:20
The Israelites approached the greatest challenge of their lives, and Moses wanted them to be ready. As young believers, we too will face great challenges especially when we want to do exploits. There will be moments when it feels like a life or death situation.
Moses’ instructions had nothing to do with conquering armies, however it had everything to do with having a right relationship with God.
As we are enroute to achieve greatness, we may have strategies and techniques but we need to know that these do not matter if we are not spiritually prepared.
Moses gave the Israelites four instructions. As youth if we want to achieve exploits, we need to employ the instructions given by Moses to the Israelites:
- Love God
You will always follow your greatest love. If He’s not your one great love, you will falter when asked to sacrifice for what you truly love.
- Listen to God.
God speaks to us through his word, his spirit and his people. He leads us, when we follow his voice
3. Link your life to His.
As youth we must take hold of God with an iron grip. He won’t let go of you but you must determine to hold on to him.
4. Lean on His promises.
God has made many promises. The amazing this is that he ALWAYS keeps them. We need to have faith in him!
