“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me”; – Psalm 23:4
The psalmist uses the word ‘when’ and not ‘if’, this tells you that you will walk through things, but you will never be alone. This journey is not for you to walk alone, the Lord accompanies you every step of your life
Fear is a lie from the enemy that can put you in bondage, but committing that fear to God is what sets you free. Jesus conquered the grave so you could be free from fear, and fear has been defeated because of the sacrifice of Christ.
Luke 10:19 says “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you”, cover yourself with the Word, and nothing will overcome you.
2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”, this means that you have God given authority over fear. Pray for God to teach you to use the authority He has given you as a revived youth over fear to defeat it in your life, because by the power of the Holy Spirit you can resist fear and the enemy’s lies, and he will flee from you as James 4:7 says “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
The ultimate way to overcome fear as a revived youth, is to fill your mind with the truth of Christ by prayer and by immersing yourself in the Word of God, and to allow the Lord to rule your life.
You have all the necessary weapons to fight fear. Ephesians 6:11- 18 says
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
As the scripture says, fear is a spiritual attack that must be fought head on with the whole armour of God, prayer and fasting. I pray today that you cover yourself in the Word, to overcome any feelings of fear that may arise.
Lord, help me to come to you when I feel overwhelmed with fear. Calm my thoughts and emotions and open my heart to your peace, comfort, and wisdom. Help me not to live in fear. Please reduce the feelings of fear and anxiety that plague me. Help me rest in You and trust You as I navigate through this broken world. In Jesus Name.
